About Our Trainer

I’m Caylen, and I’m here to help you with your dog.

I didn’t always know I would decide to open a business as a dog trainer. When I was 19, a friend got me a job at the top, largest pet boarding and daycare center in the area. I was instantly hooked on working with animals. One year later, I began apprenticing with a local training company, slowly learning everything I could and later teaching and taking on my own clients. During that time I realized that I not only had a love for dogs, but for working with their people too.

I have been working with animals for 11 years and the past 9 years I have been training. Training dogs is truly my passion; even more so, helping owners learn to properly communicate and understand their dogs.

Before I decided to go out on my own, it started with close friends or family asking for help with their new puppies or adopted dogs and from there the referrals came. I enjoy working with all different types and sizes of dogs with many different types of behavioral issues. I particularly enjoy working with reactive or aggressive dogs. Seeing the vast difference in behavior and the owner’s eyes light up saying they now have “a different dog,” is what keeps me in the business.

Don’t think it is too late, don’t give up on them, let’s work on it together!

Some Terms to Keep in Mind When Deciding on a Program:

  • Counter Surfing: When a dog jumps up on counters or tables to steal food or other items

  • Leash pulling: When a dog pulls on their leash to get to something that they want to encounter

  • Reactivity: Dogs who bark, lunge or growl at other people, dogs, or moving vehicles while on or off-leash. (No intention to injure)

  • Leash Reactivity: When a dog barks, lunges, or growls while on a leash, typically as they are trying to get to a dog, person or a moving vehicle

  • Aggression: Dogs who bark, lunge or growl at other people, dogs, or moving vehicles while on or off-leash. (They have an intention to injury and likely have bitten or been involved in dog fights in the past)

  • Defensive Aggression: If your dog is forced to be in an uncomfortable situation and react aggressively to protect itself around another dog or person they are displaying defensive aggression. This is very uncommon, only about 10% of dogs are defensive. Usually, these bites are small warning snaps. and don't leave much damage.

  • Offensive Aggression: If your dog has options but chooses to put themself in a situation where they bully or act aggressively towards a person or dog, they have offensive aggression. Usually, these bites are more serious and sometimes need stitches.

  • Doggy Daycare Syndrome: Dogs who go to doggy daycare often, who then bark, and lunge at other dogs when on a leash but can be fine with other dogs while off-leash. We call these dogs (reactive and frustrated)
