Don't take our word for it. Here's what families across the Austin area have to say about working with Caylen.
"Benni is our second Golden Retriever, and when we picked him up from the breeder, we were very confident. After all — we'd done this before. Turns out, Benni had other plans. His crowning moment? One morning I walked into the dining room to find Benni standing on the dining table, eating my breakfast and drinking my coffee. That was my 'okay, we absolutely cannot do this ourselves' moment. Fate stepped in the very same day. While walking Town Lake, I noticed a woman with a perfectly trained puppy. I stopped her and asked for her secret. Her answer, without hesitation: Caylen. Two days later we met in person. We started with private sessions, which were fantastic — but it quickly became clear that Benni needed a board-and-train. Best. Decision. Ever. When we picked him up, he was a completely different dog: beautifully trained, walking on a leash like a champ, calm, focused — and most impressively, our 7-year-old daughter was able to confidently handle our 60-pound dog. Fast forward two years and we're still working with Caylen. Our goal is for Benni to become a therapy dog, and thanks to Caylen's expertise, patience, and genuine love for dogs, that dream feels absolutely within reach."
"If you have an Italian Greyhound, you need to bring her to Caylen! She did a remarkable job teaching our Boba girl everything from potty training, sit, stay, down, place, walking nicely on leash, off leash training, and a general calm demeanor in busy public settings. Basically everything we struggled with, Caylen fixed within a 4 week board and train. She knew right away how to handle a delicate breed that has a unique personality. She also socialized our dog in so many new settings that calmed her anxiety to the point where she can be around many people, dogs, and loud noises and does great. Very excited to have Caylen train our next pup!"
"More Than Dog Training has been life-changing! Caylen provided me with a new perspective on understanding my dog and ultimately opened up so many more opportunities for my dog and I. Caylen's knowledge and encouragement has given both my dog and myself more confidence and peace of mind. We have made monumental progress with my dog's leash aggression and overall anxiousness. I am very grateful to see such great progress in such a short amount of time — and she sets you up with very helpful knowledge to continue to grow with your doggie. I would highly recommend her!"
"Caylen was truly an incredible trainer for our dog, Ace! We got Ace just a few months before finding out we were expecting, so it was really important for us to have him well-trained. The 4-week board-and-train program was absolutely perfect. Ace learned essential commands like place and how to walk calmly next to a stroller, both on and off leash. Since bringing our baby home, those skills have been invaluable. He's become the best dog we could have ever asked for — and that's all thanks to Caylen. She also worked with him on off-leash recall and heel, which has made family walks so much more enjoyable. We highly recommend More Than Dog Training to every dog parent!"
"Calling More Than Dog Training was one of the best decisions of my life! I have a reactive dog and walking her around our neighborhood was nearly impossible before Caylen's help. Now I have solid methods to ensure my dog walks with a loose leash and doesn't feel the need to lash out at passing people or dogs. I HIGHLY recommend Caylen not only because of the immense knowledge she has to share, but because she is an empathetic person who truly listens to what you want out of each training session. She creates a positive environment where you don't show up embarrassed for help. 10/10 would recommend!!!"
"My shepherd mix Maz and I had recently moved in with my boyfriend who had 2 cats, and we were making slow progress on our own when we decided a professional was needed. Caylen was so wonderful and informative with updates and videos while Maz did a board and train. To see how much Maz was able to progress and have more self control around other animals honestly made me tear up. Now we can enjoy a more peaceful home, and the confidence knowing we can go explore Austin with Maz has opened endless possibilities."
"We had an incredible experience working with Caylen. After adopting a 5-year-old terrier mix who was very reactive toward other dogs — and at times even children — we reached out for help. Through private training sessions over just six weeks, we've seen a complete transformation in our dog's behavior. We're so grateful for everything Caylen taught us and would definitely recommend working with her!"
"I could say so many amazing things about Caylen. I reached out because I desperately wanted my puppy to be off leash. With every private session I learned so much — I learned how to communicate with my dog and how to trust her. I had no prior knowledge of E collars and believed they were painful. Caylen reassured me that was not the case at all. By our last session I was confident in everything we had learned and my pup was running around getting to be a dog that could be free. Everything was worth it for her happiness and I would not hesitate to do it all again. There's no one like Caylen."
"I reached out to Caylen when we hit a wall with our puppy training. Our newest family member had become a challenge at 8 months old — big, strong, pushy, and reactive. We did 1:1 sessions and she was able to help us fine tune, tweak, and introduce new tools so that now we have a great family member who is manageable and able to walk off leash — which was my goal from the beginning. She is a great communicator and mentor. My husband was a little skeptical, but honestly I don't think we could have gotten there without her. Highly recommend. 10/10!"
"Caylen was amazing with my boy, Moses! He did the 4-week board and train and his manners, obedience, and skills are incredible. Walking him is such a joy now — he was a serious leash puller. His recall is amazing; I can call him off a distraction easily. She communicated regularly throughout the process and I never worried about how he was doing. Caylen is really responsive and easy to reach, and a good teacher for the humans too. I learned how to better advocate for my dog and have his back. If you're thinking about working with her, do it!"
"In December of 2022, we adopted a 6 week old puppy and quickly realized we were in over our heads. We passed up the 'one size fits all' obedience classes for Caylen. After the first phone call, we felt much more at ease — she tailors the training to each individual dog. After a 6 week program, we decided to extend, and Caylen offered us a tailored puppy program that took us through the first year of our dog's life. This training saved our sanity and made us get closer to our dog in a way that didn't seem possible. Caylen is a lifesaver — friendly, communicative, professional, and our dog absolutely adores her. Would recommend her 1000 times over."
"If I could give more stars I would. We just finished 4 weeks of board training for our dogs and couldn't be more happy and thankful. We had an issue with in-house fights with our corgis and needed to work on reactivity and helping them find peace with each other. Caylen helped us not only train our dogs but understand their biological needs and what causes them to fight. Aside from her training, Caylen was extremely communicative and very good at managing our expectations. Her honesty and clarity made us feel at ease with having our dogs away from us. She deserves all the praise and good reviews she has."
"Caylen was a lifesaver! My pittie mix had a history of abusive trauma before I adopted him and after over a year of training with multiple trainers, I still had serious issues with leash aggression. After just one session with Caylen, she accurately assessed and gave me the exact tool I needed. I saw a 90% reduction in that behavior in just ONE WEEK. I can happily say my dog has an occurrence once every 10 walks now versus constantly before. I HIGHLY recommend Caylen for everything — she really knows her stuff. Big thanks for not only helping Duncan, but helping me manage a dog with previous trauma!"
"Caylen is a wonderful trainer and just an overall amazing human! We worked with her when our 5 year old Golden Retriever was struggling to adjust to having a baby in the house — he was anxious, growling when she was near, and struggling with sharing attention. After only a few sessions, our relationship with our dog completely changed. He became comfortable enough to play with our daughter as she got older. Caylen's methods work wonders and she really takes time to focus on the human factor as well as the dog. She was there to listen when we struggled and was always available to answer questions. I will gladly hire her again!"
"Caylen was amazing to work with. My dog is reactive and Caylen was extremely patient with her from the very beginning. This was my 3rd round of formal training — first with Caylen — and this time we really worked on confidence building. While my dog will never be perfect because her issues stem from genetics, this round of training was life changing. Not only did my dog gain a ton of confidence, I gained confidence in being able to control her and help her through tough situations. She's extremely passionate about what she does and won't stop until she does the job you hire her to do. 10/10."
"Caylen is an amazing dog trainer — adaptable, helpful, knowledgeable, and so willing to do what it takes to help your dog and you. My wife and I adopted our dog Mia when she was 7 weeks old. Despite group training and a lot of work on our own, Mia would perform great inside our house but as soon as we left, it was like we weren't there. She eventually became reactive to other dogs. We started with private sessions at home, but halfway through Caylen realized she needed to spend full days with Mia to figure out what was best for her. We pivoted to board and train, where Caylen sent videos, texts, and audio messages constantly. It was so hard to not have our dog for 4 weeks, but the constant communication was so encouraging. Caylen taught us all the tools we needed while hearing out our concerns — she explained the same things two different ways because my wife and I learn differently. Most importantly, it was so obvious Caylen truly cared for our dog and wanted to see her have a better life. If you haven't reached out yet, just do it already!"
