Before I was a trainer, I was exactly where you are.
My first dog, Neff — she's the one in the logo — broke out of three crates, jumped fences, nearly caused a car accident from her anxiety, ran off after deer more times than I can count, and was reactive on leash. I bought every wrong piece of equipment you can imagine: a pretty pink back-clip harness, a choke chain three sizes too big. I thought I was doing everything right. I wasn't.
Neff taught me more about dog training than any course ever could. She's 13 now and still going strong — and every frustrated, overwhelmed owner who comes to me gets a trainer who genuinely knows what it feels like to be in your shoes.
I founded More Than Dog Training in 2018 with one belief: every dog is capable of more than you're being told. With the right training — and the right trainer — most of what you're dealing with can be worked through. I've seen it hundreds of times. I've lived it once myself.
My specialty is off-leash obedience and reactivity — the two areas where training changes lives the most. A dog that can be trusted off leash. A reactive dog that finally gets to enjoy a walk. Those wins never get old.
